Color-difference evaluation for 3D objects

چکیده
A psychophysical experiment using 3D printed samples was conducted to investigate the change of perceived color differences caused by two different illuminations and sample shapes. 150 pairs around five CIE centers [Color Res. Appl. 20, 399–403, 1995], consisting 75 spherical flat samples, with a wide range covering from small large magnitude, were an Mcor Iris paper-based printer. Each pair assessed twice panel 10 observers gray-scale method in spectral tunable LED viewing cabinet types light sources: diffuse lighting without additional overhead spotlight. The experimental results confirmed that conditions had more effect on difference between complex shapes than 2D objects. for objects similar under only lighting. Color constancy improves for real 3D objects.
In this study human color constancy was tested for two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) setups with real objects and lights. Four different illuminant changes, a natural selection task and a wide choice of target colors were used. We found that color constancy was better when the target color was learned as a 3D object in a cue-rich 3D scene than in a 2D setup. This improvement was i...
متن کاملCompression of 3D Objects with Multistage Color-Depth Panoramic Maps
We propose a new representation method, the multistage color-depth panoramic map (or panomap), for compressing 3D graphic objects. The idea of the proposed method is to transform a 3D graphic object, including both the shape and color information, into a single image. With a pseudo cylinder (or sphere), the color/depth information of a 3D graphic object can be recorded completely via a main pan...
متن کاملColor Digitizing and Modeling of Free-form 3D Objects
This paper deals with the problem of capturing the color information of physical 3D objects thanks to a class of digitizers providing color and range data, like range finders based on structured lighting. It appears typically in a modeling procedure that aims at building a realistic virtual 3D model. The color data delivered by such scanners basically express the reflected color intensity of th...
متن کاملSurface gloss and color perception of 3D objects.
Two experiments explore the color perception of objects in complex scenes. The first experiment examines the color perception of objects across variation in surface gloss. Observers adjusted the color appearance of a matte sphere to match that of a test sphere. Across conditions we varied the body color and glossiness of the test sphere. The data indicate that observers do not simply match the ...
